But the Talk Heads managed to give it the New Wave something Al Greene&#8217;s old R&#038;B just didn&#8217;t have.  Very rare to see some white guys remake classic R&#038;B better than the original.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>William Shatner<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>Beatles<\/em><br \/>\nBecause its about the most ridiculous thing you&#8217;ve ever heard (after Leonard Nemoy&#8217;s The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, complete with late 60s music video).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>With a Little Help From My Friends<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Joe Cocker<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>Beatles<\/em><br \/>\nBecause you can practically smell the bourbon on his breath, feel every word e grinds out, glory in the delicious 70s-ness of it all.  Sit down Ringo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Twist and Shout<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Beatles<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal:  <em>Can&#8217;t remember<\/em><br \/>\nBecause I&#8217;ve taken 2 from the Beatles already, and their version makes you wan to dance in the middle of a Chicago parade<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>On Her Majesty&#8217;s Secret Service<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Propellerheads<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>Soundtrack, Movie same name<\/em><br \/>\nThe original was good (played during the ski chase scene), but every time the Propellerheads version comes on i start uncontrollably drinking martini&#8217;s, seducing random women I&#8217;ve never met before, and shooting at things from the hidden rocket launchers in my Aston Martin.  Good thing I don&#8217;t listen to this too often.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Brown<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Styles of Beyond<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>Bob Marley<\/em><br \/>\nClaiming a remake of a Bob Marley tune is better than Bob&#8217;s version is asking for trouble, I know.  But this is a bit more than just a remake.
