Here are just a few that popped into my head recently.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<strong>I Can&#8217;t Stand the Rain <\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Missy Elliot<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>Anne Pebbles<\/em><br \/>\nThough not officially a remake, Missy Elliot didn&#8217;t just sample Anne Pebbles, she just grabbed the whole song\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>Downtown Train<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Rod Stewart<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>Tom Waits<\/em><br \/>\nGaa!  Rod Stewart is black hole of talent, sucking the soul out of anything he sings\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<strong>American Woman<\/strong><br \/>\nRemake: <em>Lenny Kravitz<\/em><br \/>\nOriginal: <em>The Guess Who<\/em><br \/>\nLenny, you ain&#8217;t no Burton Cummings.  This remake completely sapped all the thinly veiled anger and, dare I say&#8230; edge, from the original.
